Job Description *ADA 508 Remediation Specialist* Working within the pdf, word, excel and powerpoint environment, creating reader accessible documents for the hard of sight that will be posted on websites to meet the ADA compliance regulations of Section 508. *What is 508 Compliance?* All public facing documents that can be accessed on the internet should be accessible to all people. For all government agencies and companies that serve government agencies, supplying accessible documents is the law. People who have visual, cognitive, hearing or motor impairments have a difficult time accessing documents on the internet due to them being inaccessible. This means that people with certain disabilities can’t help themselves on the internet, preventing them from doing important things. *THIS IS WHERE SPLASH BOX MARKETING COMES IN…* At Splash Box Marketing we work with our clients to provide them with online, pdf, word, excel and powerpoint reader accessible documents that meet the HHS 508 Guidelines and WCAG 2.1. *Job Description:* The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite products, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. We will train on the use of remediation software to create section 508 compliant PDF deliverable files. A working knowledge of document accessibility and 508 compliance would be helpful. Would prefer a candidate with OCR experience, especially within Abbyy Fine Reader. Learn More: https://youtu.be/0C7JUR71KXg Duties Include: * Create Section 508 compliant PDF, word, excel and powerpoint deliverable files * OCR Scan and correction of flattened image documents * Support quality and version control activities/practices. * Provide administrative support and other duties as directed *Education:* Prefer a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field or 3–5 years equivalent experience *General Experience and Qualifications:* * Highly Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) * Highly Proficient in Abbyy Fine Reader * Highly Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Professional * Knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act compliance requirements a plus * Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail * Ability and willingness to learn new software applications * Ability and willingness to learn and follow processes * Ability to work as a member of an integrated team * Excellent problem-solving skills Job Type: Full-time / hybrid Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $50,000.00 per year Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Application Question(s): * Do you have experience using CommonLook PDF to remediate documents?
