Learning Technologist

Western Carolina University is hiring a permanent, full-time Learning Technologist for the Academic Engagement & IT Governance department, located in Cullowhee, NC. Key Responsibilities Instructional Design Support: Consults with faculty and staff to design engaging, accessible courses and integrate instructional technologies within and beyond the LMS. Educational Technologies Support: Provides advanced training, troubleshooting, and core administrative support for the university's learning management systems and related systems. Digital Accessibility: Evaluates course materials against established standards (e.g., WCAG) and delivers training on digital remediation strategies. Qualifications Minimum: A Bachelor's degree and three years of experience supporting instructional technologies in higher education, including experience with LMS platforms and digital accessibility. Preferred: A Master's degree, experience specifically with Canvas LMS, and a background in creating web-based or digital learning tools.
