Learning Technologist for Accessibility

Brown University is a leading research university known for its student-centered learning and deep sense of purpose. The Learning Technologist for Accessibility is a member of the Digital Learning & Design (DLD) team at the Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning. This team supports faculty in integrating technology into teaching for all Brown courses. The position involves supporting accessibility-focused software integrated with learning platforms, validating accessibility of learning technologies and experiences, and providing guidance to instructors about accessible use of DLD-supported tools. Responsibilities include service ownership for accessible learning technology applications, consulting with instructors on accessibility concerns, coaching for digital course content remediation, primary support for accessibility inquiries, collaborating with colleagues and vendors, coordinating with other technology service owners, and mentoring student staff. This is a fixed term position through May 31, 2028, potentially extendable based on funding. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent, 2-3 years of experience in academic support as a learning technologist ideally in higher education, knowledge of web accessibility standards, project management, strong communication and customer service skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and familiarity with inclusive teaching practices. The successful candidate will work at Brown's Providence campus a minimum of two days a week with flexibility for remote work otherwise.
