Job Description

Creighton University School of Medicine is seeking a Temporary Digital Accessibility Compliance Assistant. The position supports a university-wide initiative to bring digital instructional materials into compliance with updated accessibility standards by reviewing, remediating, and improving digital content to ensure equitable access for all learners. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with learning management systems and document-creation tools. This is a project-based, temporary position with an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to institutional accessibility and inclusion efforts. Responsibilities: - Review digital instructional and administrative content to identify accessibility issues in accordance with current accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG guidelines). - Remediate documents, presentations, PDFs, and other digital materials to meet accessibility requirements. - Assist with ensuring course content housed in Canvas is accessible and properly formatted. - Update and format documents using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to improve accessibility. - Edit and remediate PDFs and other media using Adobe tools (e.g., Acrobat). - Collaborate with Office of Medical Education staff to prioritize and track remediation progress. - Maintain accurate documentation of changes and completed compliance work. - Follow established accessibility best practices and project guidelines. Qualifications: - Attention to detail and ability to follow accessibility standards and guidelines. - Experience reviewing and editing digital content a plus. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). - Working knowledge of Canvas or other learning management systems. - Familiarity with Adobe tools, especially Adobe Acrobat. - Interest in accessibility, inclusive design, or educational technology is a plus.
