Preferred Qualifications * Master’s degree in instructional design, learning technologies, or a related discipline. * Demonstrated experience in designing and developing asynchronous eLearning content using Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise). * Experience working in higher education or public sector environments. * Experience developing employee training programs and certificate pathways. * Familiarity with learning management systems. * Experience designing microlearning modules, videos, and interactive media. * Knowledge of analytics and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness. Job Description The Training Specialist leads the design, development, and delivery of asynchronous learning and development initiatives for Texas State University employees. This position applies adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and multimedia tools to create engaging and effective eLearning courses, self-paced certificate programs, and other digital learning experiences. The specialist collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) across campus to transform content into dynamic, accessible, and visually appealing online learning solutions. Job Duties * Design, develop, and implement self-paced, online learning modules and certificate programs using instructional design best practices and adult learning theory. * Create interactive and visually engaging eLearning courses using Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) and related media tools. * Partner with subject matter experts to assess training needs, define learning objectives, and design effective instructional materials and activities. * Manage the lifecycle of digital learning assets, including content updates, testing, quality control, accessibility compliance, and version management. * Evaluate learning effectiveness through analytics, learner feedback, and performance outcomes; recommend improvements based on findings. * Maintain knowledge of emerging eLearning technologies, instructional strategies, and higher education training practices. * Perform other related duties as assigned.
