Web Accessibility Specialist (WCAG)

Hybrid position with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Web Accessibility Specialist with expertise in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to champion inclusive digital experiences. In this role, you will lead efforts to ensure our online platforms meet rigorous accessibility standards, making digital content usable for all individuals, including those with disabilities. Your proactive approach and technical knowledge will drive compliance, enhance user experience, and support our commitment to accessibility excellence across all digital touchpoints. Duties Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of websites and digital assets using WCAG standards and assistive technology tools. Collaborate with web developers, designers, and content creators to implement accessibility best practices during the development lifecycle. Develop and maintain detailed accessibility documentation, reports, and remediation plans to track progress and compliance status. Provide training sessions and guidance to teams on WCAG requirements, accessibility principles, and inclusive design strategies. Stay current with evolving accessibility regulations such as ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and Section 508 compliance mandates. Coordinate testing of digital content against accessibility benchmarks, ensuring consistent adherence before deployment. Advocate for a culture of inclusivity by promoting awareness of accessibility issues throughout the organization. Qualifications Proven experience in web accessibility assessment, with strong knowledge of WCAG guidelines (preferably WCAG 2.1 or later). Familiarity with assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, and alternative input devices. Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development fundamentals relevant to accessibility implementation. Experience working within project management frameworks to prioritize remediation tasks effectively. Knowledge of compliance management practices related to digital accessibility regulations like ADA or Section 508. Background in research or quality assurance processes related to usability testing and user experience optimization. Excellent communication skills for training teams and articulating technical requirements clearly.
