Job Description
The Digital Accessibility Coordinator leads the day-to-day coordination and advancement of digital accessibility across assigned university web properties and supported digital platforms. This role ensures adherence to WCAG and applicable federal/state accessibility requirements by guiding accessibility governance, conducting audits and testing, coordinating remediation work with content, design, and development partners, and building scalable training and support for distributed content authors. The Coordinator serves as the primary accessibility point of contact for the Web Innovation & Strategy team and helps embed accessibility into the full lifecycle of web content and digital experiences. * Demonstrated commitment to inclusive design and equitable digital experiences. * Strong attention to detail; ability to document issues precisely and consistently. * Excellent stakeholder management: diplomacy, persistence, and clarity. * Ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote team environment. * Ability to interpret standards and policies and apply them pragmatically. * Ability to perform basic manual accessibility checks (keyboard-only navigation, focus management, headings/landmarks, forms, contrast). * Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 concepts and practical application in web environments. * Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear action items for non-technical stakeholders. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tickets, prioritize effectively, and follow through. N/A N/A * Considerable experience supporting digital accessibility, web content, web QA, UX, or web operations with accessibility responsibilities. * Working experience using accessibility testing tools (e.g., axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, ANDI, Siteimprove/Deque tools or similar). * IAAP certification (CPACC, WAS, or similar) or demonstrated equivalent applied expertise. * Working experience in higher education digital environments and/or working with distributed content contributors. * Familiarity with Drupal (or comparable CMS) and governance in a large organization. * Comfort reading basic HTML semantics and understanding ARIA usage at a conceptual level. * Working experience with captioning workflows, accessible document/PDF basics, and multimedia accessibility. * Working experience building training materials, documentation, or community-of-practice style support models. This is a remote position, requiring a traditional 40-hour work week. Computer equipment will be supplied for remote work; high-speed internet is the responsibility of the employee. * The equipment provided to staff with approved telework agreements enables them to deliver vital services to University faculty, staff, and students from remote locations. * Many of our operations can and should continue as usual, even when the main physical campus is closed. * Therefore, all division employees with an approved telework agreement are generally expected to work during official University closures. Should travel be required, budgetary constraints may limit where the successful candidate can reside. In addition, existing payroll limitations on locations a remote employee may work from could limit the selection of the final candidate. Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 65,000
