We are global leaders in digital accessibility. Our vision is a digital world accessible to all. AbilityNet exists to make this vision a reality. We offer a range of free and paid for services that help disabled people achieve their goals at home, at work, in education, and online. This includes working with organisations to make their digital estates more accessible, as well as providing direct support to individuals.

We are supported by some of the biggest tech businesses in the world. For example, we run TechShare Pro, the UK's largest accessibility and inclusive design conference, which has been hosted by IBM, Barclays, Google, and Microsoft.

The Accessibility Services Team currently includes 27 consultants and works with a huge range of household names. The day-to-day work is varied. For example, it can include auditing websites and apps, composing accessibility statements, running training sessions, facilitating user research, and more.

Ideal candidates will have the following skills:
• Experience with user research, such as moderated user testing.
• Confident with public speaking and experience of delivering training.
• Knowledge of digital accessibility, usability, user centred design, universal design, or inclusive design.
• Understanding of web, mobile, or software development.
• Experience with testing frameworks and standards, ideally Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

For this role we are looking for people with user research and training development and delivery skill set and experience.

When applying for the role, please make sure that you clearly communicate your expertise, referring to the above list where possible.

Please note that we do require a foundational level of technical awareness. That is, a basic working knowledge of vanilla HTML, CSS, and to a lesser extent JavaScript.

The required foundation can be gained from introductory, free online courses, such as Code Academy - HTML and CSS and FreeCodeCamp - Responsive Web Design.

Your technical skill set will be tested as part of the shortlisting and interview process.
