Website Accessibility Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for testing, documenting, and support of HTML/CSS/JavaScript based web interfaces. This position will review all web pages and content updates and give final approval for publishing to the web. The QA tester will verify that all page content is adhering to web accessibility standards.

Please note, the web QA position requires a human interaction with web pages. This is not a QA test engineer (SDET) position.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate and test net new web page builds, and content updates to existing pages, to verify compliance with user requirements.
Perform accessibility testing on pages, to verify that all content and structure conform to accessibility standards.
Provide direction to developers on proper accessibility implementation.
Validate that web pages conform to established guidelines.
Write, review, revise and verify quality standards and test procedures.
Participate in review of standards, procedures, tools and process.
Prepare and develop test strategies and test plans.
Assist developers in solving quality assurance issues. Work collectively to solve defects.

Qualifications:

Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, from a testing and verification perspective. (No code writing required for this position)
Deep familiarity with industry web accessibility standards.
Experience using screen reader software (NVDA, JAWS, etc)
Familiarity with Web QA / Black box testing – flexibility to work within, and quickly learn different and varied content management systems for web applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Specific knowledge of Microsoft Accessibility Standards (MAS rules).
Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing, grammar, technical documentation; good listener.
Experience with creating and working within Excel spreadsheets.
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Keep track of multiple projects and progress of others on team.
Problem solving and follow-through.
Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product management / content management, graphic designers.
Ability to interact with senior management. Ability to work independently. Team player who also demonstrates leadership skills in a matrix managed organization.
