The Accessibility Program Coordinator (APC) supports the diversity and inclusion goals of the organization and is the organization’s advocate, internally and externally, for ensuring that people with disabilities (PWD) are supported and successful in their employment. The APC will assess and evaluate PWD candidates for the Transitional Work Group (TWG) program, will also conduct training in operational functions, and track results. Is also responsible for creating and maintaining relationships in the designated communities with state and local agencies, advocates, and schools, with the intent to build a pipeline of candidates for the TWG program. These efforts will focus on increasing employment of disabled candidates within our distribution centers and creating awareness of the organization’s diversity and inclusion initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uses credible, reliable tools and methods to assess an individual’s ability to perform operational functions; works with Human Resources to identify and explore workplace accommodations options, as needed.
Identifies and resolves issues that impede performance through coaching, training, and identifying/evaluating accommodation; works with Operations Supervisor to provide constructive feedback to interns.
Conducts formal training and coaching to individuals in the TWG relevant to functions and skills needed in warehouse positions.
Assists HR and operations partners in relation to employment of people with disabilities (accommodation requests, performance issues, job aids) in designated buildings.
Partners with HR team in their assigned DC to assist with the management of the TWG program and promotes optimal employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Partners with the Accessibility Program Supervisor to act as consultant to operations, ensuring a culture of inclusion is created for employees with disabilities, as well as developing outreach opportunities to fill labor pipeline.
Manages outside community agency job coaches and ensure they have the appropriate tools to support employees with disabilities.
Explore agency partnerships and effectiveness of relationships with designated DC buildings.
Collaborates with other team members to create outreach communications, and may conduct presentations to advocacy groups in the community.
Serves as company ambassador in the community for individuals with disabilities by hosting and leading building tours for external partners, attending/presenting at local agency meetings, diversity and inclusion workshops and conferences.
Leads diversity communities in assigned DC buildings and acts as point of contact for diversity advocacy.
Explores job shadowing/preview opportunities, such as, but not limited to, for local high school students with disabilities to enable real-life work experience and resume development.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of experience in working with people with disabilities or High School / GED and at least 5 years of experience in working with people with disabilities.
Experience in assessing and evaluating skills against job functions and/or established procedures.
Experience developing and delivering training/development to various audience levels and skill sets.
Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems or challenges through job accommodation(s).
Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determine when escalation of issues is necessary.
Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing, and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word
At least 2 years of experience in indirect management of employees, including assisting in the development, training, and assignment of work/projects to other members of the team.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with labor relations.
Knowledge of distribution, manufacturing and/or production environment.
