Our team has one (1) full-time vacancy for a three-year fixed-term Systems Engineer OR Advanced Systems Engineer with the Digital Accessibility Program in the Department of Information Services and Technology (IST) at the County of Marin. This means that you can apply for the position as a Systems Engineer (2 years experience), as an Advanced Systems Engineer (4 years experience) or both. The Digital Accessibility Program is a new Countywide program responsible for ensuring that the County of Marin’s digital content is accessible to employees and the public. Digital content includes websites, Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, videos, kiosks, virtual meetings, and more. Our team supports IST’s projects and County departments by providing training, audits, and resources through collaborative consultation. We are a close-knit, adaptive, and driven team that thrives on interactive problem solving, and this position will have an opportunity to directly impact the County’s effort towards diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Reporting to the Digital Accessibility Program Manager, the Systems Engineer (SE) OR Advanced Systems Engineer (ASE) will support the technology projects of the Digital Accessibility Program. Please see each posting for details.

This fixed-term position is funded up to three (3) years but may end sooner or be extended depending on position funding. This is a full-time, fully benefitted position. Per PMR 48.2, fixed term employees are not subject to Reduction in Force rights at the completion of the term.
Work for this position is hybrid with some in-person requirements. Options may be discussed at time of hire. However, please note that this position requires that staff be able to report to County facilities as needed.

The Highly Qualified Candidate: The ideal candidate has a combination of technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a high attention to detail. They have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to aid in their work with stakeholders that have a wide range of technology and accessibility experience, including County employees and vendors. This person enjoys learning new software, solving problems, and has experience collaborating with team members of various levels within many or all stages of the development life cycle.
